What does a wash cost at SF City Laundromat?
Self-service washers are priced by size, so you pay for the machine you use — no monthly fee, no membership, no surge pricing:
- $4 · 14-lb top-load washer — small load, one person's clothes.
- $6 · 20-lb eco front-load washer — the everyday-hamper size.
- $7 · 30-lb front-load washer — big loads, king comforters, or two hampers combined.
How much does the dryer cost?
All dryers are the same rate: $1 per 16 minutes. Most self-service loads take one or two dryer cycles depending on fabric and how full you packed it — figure $1 for a light load of clothes, $2 for a normal mixed load, and $3 for towels or bedding.
Worked example: what does one full trip actually cost?
Take an average hamper of mixed clothes: shirts, jeans, a hoodie, socks, one set of sheets. That's a good match for the 20-lb eco washer.
- Washer (20 lb eco front-load): $6
- Dryer, 32 minutes (2 × 16-min cycles): $2
- Detergent pod at the counter (if you didn't bring your own): a small extra — ask staff for the current price.

How much is wash & fold?
Drop-off wash & fold is a per-pound service, so cost scales with the weight of your bag rather than a per-load fee:
- $1.75 / lb · sort, wash in the right cycle and temperature, high-efficiency dry, hand-fold, pair socks, bag and tag.
- -$10 · off your first drop-off order.
- Text notification when your bag is ready. Same-day service is usually available — confirm at the counter when you drop off.
Self-service or wash & fold — which is cheaper?
Self-service is almost always the lower dollar cost. Wash & fold trades money for time: you drop the bag and get on with your day, and we handle the sort, wash, dry, fold, and pairing.
